JK Motorsport Win at Brands Hatch

Gurney and Tester win from pole at Brands Hatch on the Indy circuit, despite a penalty for an out of position start. The pair, along with Darren Goes fourth on the grid in his Seat, fell afoul of stopping ahead of their pit box following the green flag lap. However, the pole sitting BMW managed to stretch a substantial lead heading into the pit stop window, where Goes was left battling with the fast starting Callum Noble in the Thorney Motorsport BMW, and unable to gap Seat rival and Silverstone winner Steve Gales. An opportune safety car period confirmed the win for Gurney and Tester as they emerged a lap up on the field, with Goes, Ollie Pidgley, and Gales left to fight for second. Although second on the road over the line Goes was relegated to fourth with his earlier time penalty, gifting the second place to Championship and class rival Pidgley and his team mate Jackson. Gales took the last podium place.

In Class A, it was the Bradley duo who took the class win, ahead of the Championship racing debut of Shead in the BMW Compact in second. The retirement of both Scott Parkin in the Golf and Gary Burstow in the BMW, and a technical blunder resulting in retirement from both Culley Seat’s, meant it was the Bradley’s to loose, but a strong finish ensured the class win from second in class on the grid.

Chris Payne took Class B victory in his Caterham from pole in class. Michael Smith looked strong in second, with the team of Getino and Smith taking the final podium space in their Porsche. Sole Class C driver Matthew Anstiss retired on lap 22.
