Jackson and Pidgley triumph in challenging conditions

Despite an early off in challenging wet conditions, Nick Jackson and ex BTCC racer Ollie Pidgley took the inaugural win of the 2020 season at Snetterton. The pair in the NJM Racing Seat SuperCopa managed to best defending Champion Darren Goes, second, following a move during the pit stop window that saw them jump the Mangoes Racing Seat EuroCup. Making his competitive Championship debut, driver Gary Hufford in his BMW M3 came home third narrowly missing out on third overall, by half a second to Goes. Despite a strong showing pole sitter Steve Gales came home fourth in his own Seat EuroCup.

Consistency was key in Class A, with Brad Kaylor able to capitalize on the misfortunes of the retiring Darkside Developments VW, to take class win and crucially for the points fifth overall. The BMW’s in Class A rounding out the top three with Gary Burstow in the E46 M3 keeping the slightly older E36 M3 of Damien and Ronan Bradley behind. An honorable mention goes to Martyn Culley in eleventh, and fourth in class having started from the back row of the grid following technical problems with his Seat in qualifying.

Michael Smith took the Class B win in the 2019 TDC championship winning Seat Ibiza, albeit with a new driver at the helm. The non-starting pole sitting Seat of Nicholas Bosch and Will Dendy, and the Pit Lane starting BMW of Stuart Pywell, give the Seat a clear class run from lights to flag.

Matthew Anstiss in the Boreham Motorsport run Honda S2000 showed strong pace all weekend to finish fourteenth overall with the debut win in the new-for-2020 SuperCup Class C.
